Sportsmanship
Youth sports should build character, and accountability, not apologize for the lack of it. I believe that involvement in sports is a privilege that must be earned.
I'd be fired after one year as a coach, cause if my best player is up on armed robbery charges he sits until we sort it out.

Did you read the point/counterpoint in the Morning News on whether the kid should play?
Granted, the case for keeping this kid off the field is simple.
So I was intrigued by the counterpoint --- keeping him on the field. The counterpoint was "Society doesn't gain by keeping him off the field." It boiled down to "the courts will deal with him" and he shouldn't be branded as a "robber" so early in his life. Weak weak weak. Sorry but you're legally an adult at 17. And if you got this far and still haven't learned that robbing six people at gunpoint is wrong, you're done. No regular school, no football and no freedom because it's time for you to go to jail.
I think this was a failed point/counterpoint.
